What is the Cost?

Have you ever been in the situation where you need to go out for dinner either with friends or family and have a tribe of kids and want to make it cost effective but nice?

We attended a musical matinee recently with my nephew who was one of the lead artists.  It was great entertainment and we decided to have a family dinner afterwards.  There were 23 people including children in the party.  So the question was, “where does one go for dinner” being mindful of cost, as not everyone can afford to pay for an expensive meal.  In fact there were several pensioners in the party.

My nephew was familiar with the area and suggested a really good seafood restaurant that had specials especially on the weekends.  The manager was surprised to see such a large contingency of people arrive on his doorstep but was more than accommodating and provided us with a separate area.  While it was a bit confined it was perfect.

The best part of course was the price.  The specials were supposed to finish by 7pm and it was then 7:45.  However he agreed to allow us to use the specials.  For myself I had the seafood chowder as an entrée and the crumbed fish and chips for the main course.  I didn’t bother with sweets, however many people did.  Prices for meals not on the specials page were very well priced too.  My meal cost $9.95.

There was also a children’s menu which was of interest to me as I had four children.  There was a really good variety for them and the eldest one was really pleased as she had calamari while the youngest had spaghetti bolognaise.  The cost for the children was $7.50 each – and I should mention this included a bowl of ice cream.

Now you may ask, where is this restaurant?  It is the Fisherman’s Cove at Coolangatta.  They can be contacted on 5536 1646 or alternatively if you would like to see more information go to the website
